A unique picturesque 18th Century Inn. Recently refurbished AA 3 Diamond Rated En suite bedrooms, with the Red Diamond Award. Featuring Real Ales, brewed by our sister brewery, The Grainstore. WIth a beautiful beer garden, petanque courts and facilities for weary walkers and freezing fishermen. Just 1 mile from Oakham, and three miles from Rutland Water. We specialise in 'Cuisine a la Biere' and have fine ales from all over the world to complement your meal in our conservatory restaurant.

Directions to The Old Plough

Take the A1 to the Junction with the A606, follow signs for 'Oakham'. After approximatly 10 miles at the first roundabout in Oakham, turn right and then straight over the next roundabout along the highstreet. Bear left after crossing the level crossing, and take the second turn on your left, signposted 'Braunston'. Follow this road for approximatly 1 mile, and The Old Plough is on the left as you enter the village. There is ample car parking.

What a lovely pub. The room was fine for the one night we were staying. The food was excellent, the different home brewed ales superb. Breakfast in the conservatory very relaxing. Thanks to all the staff.

The boiler broke down but they made every attempt to compensate by bringing in electric heaters to the room. When we asked for another one, it was there straight away.
The people were very helpful.
Lovely and quiet in a beautiful part of the country.

The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful.
There was a problem with the heating but there were four heaters put in the room during the time the heating was off.
The food was good pub food and the flower and chocolates placed on the table for the ladies on Valentines night were much appreciated.

Lovely country pub serving great food. The fish was the biggest we've ever seen - including Harry Ramsdens!. Well worth the 10 or so miles off the A1 - didn't have time to do the tour round Rutland Water but will return to do so and stay at The Plough again.
Room was fine with TV and mod cons but the standout feature were the staff - very friendly and obliging. Breakfast was varied and excellent value. We were just looking for an overnight stopover on the way to Yorkshire but we're now keen to return in the spring or summer and have a better look at the area.
Happy to recommend The Plough on the strength of the welcome alone but the whole package is excellent value.
