VERY IMPORTANT - The pub and restaurant will be closed from Monday 5th January until Monday 12th January for refurbishment and building work. Room and breakfast will still be available during this period at reduced rates, however the pub will close after breakfast and building work will commence from 7.00am. There are other pubs within 5 minutes drive which serve good food.
16 beautiful en-suite rooms in a quiet annexe in the grounds. Award winning food, good ales, fine wines and English fruit wines. Situated in the heart of Kent countryside at the foot of the North Downs. Excellent walks and scenery. Al Fresco dining on the terrace in the summer. WI-FI access in all the rooms. Please book for dinner 6.45pm or 8.45pm as restaurant is often fully booked because it is so popular! Sorry - We cannot guarantee a table if you have not booked.

From M20 take junction 7 to A249. Turn into Detling village and take Pilgrims Way signposted Thurnham. 1 mile East of A249 and 3.5 miles from Maidstone. Only 5 minutes from M20 but in lovely countryside. DO NOT use Sat Nav after coming off the M20 onto the A249 - it will send you the wrong side of the Pilgrims Way!

This place is just lovely. The rooms are a really nice size and I love the layout of the place. The beds were really comfy and everything was really clean and fresh. We had a great breakfast - all freshly prepared. The staff were very friendly and it made it all a delightful place to stay. We also had dinner in the restuarant. If you are staying you should really treat yourself and eat dinner there as well because the food was sensational.

At the discounted rate of Late rooms, the value for money was very good.
Normal rate would have been too expensive.
Otherwise - very pleasant service and staff - very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended for 1 or 2 night escape into the green.

Staff in pub and in the reception very helpful and friendly. Room comfortable and clean.
