Situated in the beautiful Conwy Valley, on the outskirts of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park, you will find the Maenan Abbey Hotel.Built as a Gentleman's Residence in 1850 on the site of the historic 13th century Cistercian Monastery, the hotel is situated within beautiful grounds with the foothills of the Snowdonia range providing a dramatic backdrop. As soon as you walk into our entrance hall with its magnificent galleried Victorian staircase and blazing winter log fire, you will immediately feel at home. Whilst maintaining its historic traditions, Maenan Abbey offers all modern hotel facilities. All fourteen bedrooms are en-suite and offer a flexible mixture of single, doubles, twins, a four poster bridal suite and 3 family rooms.Here at the Abbey we pride ourselves on our cooking which offers a unique combination of traditional Welsh fair alongside more contemporary international dishes. We use only the finest products that are locally produced wherever possible and cooked to the highest standard. Our friendly bar is open to the public and attracts many locals and regulars as well as those guests staying with us, whilst our elegant residents lounge is the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet coffee after dinner.

The food here is superb, the chef is a legend. Staff very friendly. Great value for money and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The public and common areas are in need of a revamp and upgrade. The staff tried to be helpful but there appeared to be communication failures and unfamiliarity with the systems. Bedrooms very clean and spacious.

Hotel in very good position in Conway Valley, staff friendly and room quite recently refurbished. Restaurant food average and quite expensive, breakfast reasonable choice and satisfactory quality.

Handsome Victorian house in need of updating; definitely towards the end of its decoration cycle. Plumbing a bit erratic. Very friendly service, dinner unexciting (that's OK) but very nicely prepared and served; only one vegetarian choice, which is why we only ate here on one of our two evenings.
