i stayed in room 111 for 2 nights, the tv did not work, there was no curtain on one of the windows, and the carpet was grubby. compared to days hotel in luton the royal hotel is not worth the £53 a night i paid, days hotel is only £60 a night in the weekend and it is definately worth paying the £7 more at days hotel. |

On arriving at the Hotel, the check in went ok and the Receptionist was courteous. On the way up to the room, the state of the Hotel generally was extremely poor, although I do appreciate that it is undergoing renovation. The room itself was very basic and not very clean (there were cobwebs in the corners and dust around generally). The television was working but was in dire need of replacing and the remote control did not work and I had to go to reception to get new batteries. The aerial lead was exactly that, no aerial plug, just the lead, which I had to plug in myself. The room was stiflingly hot and therefore we needed the window wide open, it would have been better if a fan had been supplied. This led to a poor nights sleep because of all the traffic and car stereos blaring out right through the night. The bed was also in desperate need of replacement, it was extremely uncomfortable. When we checked out the receptionist on that morning was very indifferent, I handed the keycard back to her and got an"OK" and she went back to whatever she was doing on the computer. |
