5 Star- Gold awarded accommodation. Shortlisted for Guest Accommodation of the year 2006,2007 and 2008 organised by Yorkshire Tourist Board sponsored by BBC. Refurbished town house minutes from town centre and castle opened 1 June 2005. Perfect location for touring moors, steam train and quaint villages - York and Whitby equidistant - 30 minutes. Luxury for the weary and stressed. Log Fires, Lounge and Bar, Peaceful Garden(except for the Church bells and the whistle of the steam train) continental breakfast in bed, free Wi Fi access.
Tea/Coffee and cake on arrival-please note we check in from 4.30pm but guests are welcome to use our carpark should they arrive earlier.

Very good experience from start to finish with many nice touches which make you feel very welcome as a guest, from tea and cake on arrival and recommendations for local restaurants to the detail of the honour bar for drinks and the optional snacks. More of a boutique hotel than a B & B.

Outstanding! From the tea and cake on arrival to the wonderful breakfast the next morning, the whole experience was fantastic.
The standard of decoration and finish throughout the building was immaculate.
