Hotel Alimandi Viale Vaticano is located in one of the most elegant area of Rome, in front of the entrance of Vatican Museum. Open on July 2004, Hotel Alimandi was originally a Police department office, today is a luxurious 4-star hotel. In total the hotel offers 24 rooms (three of them are suites), decorated in liberty style and all furnished with all modern comforts.
We serve our rich buffet breakfast in the beautiful breakfast room, available also to organise banquets, receptions and other special events. The intimate and discreet "Alimandi Vatican Bar" is the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif or a night-cap also serving sandwiches and salads. Let us not forget the multilingual concierge and personal and attentive service that the Hotel Alimandi Vatican staff offers it guests.
The Hotel Alimandi has at its guests disposal rooms of different kinds and typologies in order to satisfy any client's demands. In fact guests can choose among double, twin, triple, superior double rooms, suites or even apartment if they prefer.
All our rooms are elegantly decorated and equipped with all the comforts of the modern life such as Air Conditioning, ADSL connection, Answering Machine, Computer Plugs, Direct Dial Telephone, Internet Connection, Radio Satellite TV, Mini-Bar, Room Service, Hairdryer, Safe, Slippers Alarm Clock, Shaver Points, Shampoo, Soap etc. Smoke Detectors Sound Proof Windows and Individual Climate Control.
The Hotel provides its clients a free shuttle just from/to Fiumicino airport (FCO) at these times:

In order to book it please send us an email just one week before your arrival at our Hotel providing us your flight company, number and landing time.
We let you know that once landed at the airport you need at least one hour to clear the custom, collect your luggage and be ready to take the shuttle.

From Fiumicino airport, located 35 Km far from Rome west side, you can get to the hotel: · by Special Train Leonardo Express The Leonardo Express train leaves every day from Fiumicino Airport station every 30 minutes and it stops at the Termini Railway Station without no mid-journey stops. · by Taxi Taxis are available in the arrivals areas of the terminals. The fare to the centre of Rome is about 45 Euro. It is highly recommended to take only the yellow and white licensed taxis. · by Car At the airport is possible to rent a car with the all the major car hire companies. · from Ciampino airport, located 25 km from the east side of Rome, you can get to the hotel: · by ACO.TRA.L bus + Train (Railway Station of Ciampino) Outside the Arrivals Hall there are Acotral Buses for the Ciampino Railway Station. Very friendly and helpful staff. A liitle out of centre but super for Vatican, tube 5 mins away. Free shuttle service is excellent and easy to book. Buffet breakfast is good but always rather cold. Would definately use the hotel again and recommend tofriends.

Excellent Hotel for friendlieness and proximity to the Vatican However, the only downside is that it is well away from the main centre for restaurants, bars, the Colliseum, The Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, etc - it is around a 30 minute walk to these areas or a 15 minute taxi ride Other than than that, a very good hotel with excellent customer service from the hotel staff

The hotel standards were excellent from staff to rooms etc, the breakfast buffet was best we had experienced outside of the USA ,not a lot was mentioned about the roof terrace a lovely spot overlooking the back of the Vatican Museum to sit and enjoy a cold inexpensive bottle of wine from the bar. It is quite a walk from centre of Rome but absolutely perfect for St Peters and the Vatican. Getting there from the airport by taxi was expensive we only learned when we got there that the hotel can either arrange a taxi or they do have a complimentary shuttle . Only real drawback was lack of restaurants open late in the immediate area when the Vatican closes so do they. Overall though we thought everything was great and feel if we return to Rome it will be to the Alimandi and we would certainly use Late Rooms .com again.

Visited Rome end of April 08 and stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.All the staff were very friendly and were very helpful and polite at all times.The hotel is across the road from the Vatican Museum and is in an ideal location.IIf you book a vatican tour your meeting point is right next to the hotel. I booked a standard room which was more than comfortable and kept to a very high standard and very clean. I would have no problems in recommending this hotel to anyone.Thanks to all the staff for making us welcome.
