Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport

Staff could be a bit brusque, but mostly ok. Hotel is clean and food is ok, great for me as I prefer food to be plain rather than covered in sauces.

It was a very enjoyable stay, the room was spacious and very nice, a comfortable bar area and the breakfast food was delicious. The hotel was easy to reach from the motorway.

We ordered room service breakfast, we dialed reception who put us through to the kitchen who told us this was wrong, and they put us through to the restaurant. After repeating the order three times to a foreign sounding man, he told us bfast had already been taken under our room number. We assured him this was not the case. When the breakfast did finally arrive, (bowl of fruit and croissant for me, cooked bfast for him) we got my order twice, and his order was cold, missing items and toast and jam added (not requested). I was supplied with a knife and fork for my fruit and croissants. It's not that important, it's only breakfast, and the order probably got lost in translation. But at least have people with good English taking food orders, and people with some common sense preparing the trays!

Thought it could be better signposted from the A45.
Only one real complaint was with the payment. I have had £80 instead of £61 taken from my account. The hotel staff tell me it is normal proceedure and that I will be refunded in the next few days. My point is , what would have happened if I had only £70 in my account? This was not explained to me before payment.
