The room was of a very good size.
Polite comments.
The mattress was not very comfortable and in my opinion needed renewing.
The bathroom was of an excellent size with upto date sanitary ware. The cleanliness of the bathroom was poor as it smelt of urine.
A small fridge in the bedroom would have been an asset.

We stayed in room 22 for one night On Saturday night (22 November). Please read review to the end - this is not a negative review in any way.......
Our night’s sleep was ruined due to the occupant of room 23 (adjacent and with an interconnecting door) who, it seems, fell asleep with the TV still on and at no inconsiderable volume. We could not sleep. Shortly after midnight we rang reception and spoke to the man on duty, explained the problem. He was very pleasant and helpful, and said he would try and contact the occupant of room 23. He did try – we heard him knock several times on the door and a short while later heard him ringing the phone in that room, but he could not raise the occupant. The noise continued. At about 3am, I again rang down to reception and spoke to the same member of staff who apologised profusely, and said he would try again and that he had tried several times in the interim to raise the occupant. He repeated his earlier actions, again without success.
At 7am with the noise having continued, without a break all night, I again rang down and this time spoke to the Duty Manager and explained the situation. She apologised too and said she would try and resolve the problem. She visited room 23 and this time succeeded in making contact with the occupant and the noise ceased immediately. We went down for breakfast at about 8am and spoke to the Duty Manager who again apologised for our night’s sleep being ruined and said that the hotel would adjust our bill to compensate for our spoilt stay.
Following our (delicious) breakfast we went to reception to check out, and were told that we were not being charged at all for our stay. We explained that we were most touched with that offer, but we felt that it only fair that we pay something – after all it was not the hotel’s fault that they had accommodated such an inconsiderate and selfish guest, although the fact that our room had a connecting door to 23 had not helped with muffling any sound from that room, and we compromised by paying a proportion of the bill – which we still thought generous of the hotel.
The hotel did all they could to rectify a problem caused by a selfish guest, and we have written to the hotel to thank them for their efforts. The night member of staff was in a very difficult position and did certainly make significant attempts to resolve the problem. The Duty Manager did resolve the problem quickly, but to be fair to the night porter, if the room occupant was under the influence of drink or even just very fast asleep, it may be that he could not have been woken until the morning anyway.
It is one thing to have a legitimate complaint such as ours, but the manner in which they are dealt with makes such an enormous difference. Yes our sleep was ruined, but that was the fault of the occupant of room 23 and not of the hotel or staff. We we would certainly not be put off a return visit to the hotel – although I suspect we would much prefer a room without an interconnecting door such as 22/23 which perhaps served to make the problem more profound.
The room was clean although compact, the public areas of the hotel excellent, the staff helpful and friendly throughout our stay and the breakfast huge and of fantastic quality. We would happily recommend this hotel.

I opted for this hotel instead of the nearby Travelodge as it included breakfast, which was absolutely fantastic, make sure your hungry because there's plenty & it was cooked to perfection!!
We missed the evening dinner by 5 minutes (9pm) which looked good & very reasonable, also the dining area is very tasteful !
My only negative is we stayed in a twin Room 23 & there was quite a bit of noise between rooms, this may have been enfasiesd due to a dividing door leading to the next room?
I would certainly stay again but i would be keen not to stay in this type of room!
