A so called "Olde-Worlde" establishment which is code for old and tatty. The staff were however extremely friendly and helpful and this just about compensated for the tardy and well worn fixtures and fittings. If this were a hospital then I would have been a little worried about any infections lurking in the only just clean bathroom. Paint is cheap and this hotel could certainly do with spending some of the highly inflated room rate on a gallon or two. The rear entrance aspect was anything but welcoming and the use of a pressure washer to clean the grease and remains of numerous spilt meals over the course of the last few years would have helped the overall impression greatly. I dread to think of the impression left to any visitors from overseas and would hope that they realised that this hotel was dirty and not typical of the UK as a whole.........or perhaps it is? |

Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable - a double was in fact 2 singles put together. Breakfast was fine until the cleaner started to mop the floor with bleach whilst we were eating. Staff were friendly and helpful. |

Dirty bathroom. Bedroom and bathroom tatty and need of updating. Felt it was pricey. Breakfast slow service and poor quality. Staff friendly. |
