Fairwater Head Hotel

Nestled in 2 acres of beautiful gardens, our charming country house hotel is a place of peace and tranquillity.
Enjoy afternoon tea on the patio, taking in the superb views of the valleys below. Later, unwind with a drink by the roaring log fire of the lounge.
New owners Adam and Carrie Southwell and their team strive to create the perfect relaxed atmosphere with friendly and efficient service. Our restaurant has an AA Rosette for the high standard and quality of the food, making it some of the very best in the area. We offer a fixed price Table d'hotes dinner @ £29.50 each evening, along with a seven course Tasting Menu. Booking is advisable.

Take exit no. 25 off M5, then A358 direction Chard. After Chard take direction Axminster. Once through little Village of Tytherleigh, look for signs on the left to Hawkchurch, take any one of three lanes and carry on for 3 miles down windey lanes. Once in the Village of Hawkchurch go right to the top, past the Church on your left. You will then see brown tourism signs with Hotel name.

Breakfast good, didn't eat there in the evening. Great setting for a hotel with good views. Bathrooms dated, but clean.

Greater flexibility on the evening dinner menu would be appreciated. The food was lovely but I couldn't face a 4 course dinner 2 nights in a row and there wasn't a lesser option or a la carte available.

My only quiblbe in an otherwise excellent stay is that i would have liked a more powerful shower but I am sure next time there is a refurbishment the bathrooms will be updated. I would stay again. The restaurant was first class

Room was getting a little "tired" but was clean and comfortable. The service was excellent and the food was superb.
