I've stayed here many times due to its proximity to family and Bristol centre. This time I felt the usually well above adequate Hotel du Vin had lost its mojo somewhat. We had been upgraded to one of their huge studio rooms despite being a discounted laterooms customer. The rooms and hotel were looking a little bit tatty - especially the bathroom. The service from the reception staff was not particularly attentive and arranging parking and a restaurant booking was more painful than it should have been. Nevertheless this hotel is pretty good - one of Bristol's better hotels. The Berkely Square is the only other 'boutique' alternative I know of, but while more stylish is much smaller (with some really small rooms). Anyway - as for Hotel du Vin - the beds are super comfy and large and its a charming building in a convenient location. |

Hotel is great in a good location for the centre of the city and in a very attractive courtyard setting. Like most HduVins is an old boys club style and very attractive. Bathrooms are fab! The only issue that I had was that the seagulls were going for it all night, oh and some inconsiderate cretins coming back from a club at 2.30am. |
