Very small room with a shower that was ridiculous. Tiny shower with flimsly shower curtain on a swivel 6 prong hanger that was not attached to all prongs and didn't stay where you attempted to put it anyway. Attempted to use clothespins to affix curtain so that it didn't cling to you as you tried to bathe, but little success. One had to constantly push the clinging curtain from your body as you attempted to wash. The curtain was short and so inadequate that the floor was flooded each time you took a shower. The only solution was to cover the floor with towels PRIOR to turning on the water; otherwise the entire bathroom was literally flooded and you were walking in water afterward. Of course, this meant that many of your towels where used for flood abatement vs used for drying oneself. One wall in the bedroom had numerous places where the plasterboard was damaged with the black particle board showing through and no signs of attmepts to repair the wall. Breakfast was usual European menu within a relatively crowded space. Need taxi to airport. Bus service available from train station and/or to go downtown. Property is on the opposite of the Arno river from the rest of Florence. Of the 6 different rooms we booked for our Italy trip, this was undoubtedly the poorest room of all. |
