Oak Farm Hotel (M6 J12)

The location (right on the A5 and just off J12 of the M6) is really convenient. The reception was competent and welcoming, the security gates a reassuring feature, bed comfortable and the room was clean, but of the 'lodge' style: no frills. The hotel is nothing like you imagine an old farm, although I'm sure that's what it once was. It's a maze inside! However, the bar, the menu, quality and range of food, and the warm welcome in the bistro made up for the rather impersonal environment. I've had better value B&B for £49.95 (through LateRooms), but the combination of convenience and friendliness compensated, particularly as I needed to be at a location very close-by.

Staff were professional and friendly - room was very clean and the bed was comfortable - breakfast was good although it finished early, ( 8.15am Mon - Friday) if you are a leisure traveller - bedroom was quiet even though there were functions on two of the nights that I stayed - location is convenient for the motorway and local towns - wil definitely stay there again

Felt as if it could do with a revamp...............room was shabby and the hotel had an air of being run down a little.

Good hotel, well located, easy to find,secure car park. Quick and attentive reception. Clean, well maintained and pleasant hotel. But why is the restaurant not open on friday & saturday nights? With no food available you are forced to eat out and therefor can not have a drink! Also I had to leave before breakfast so paid for a bed and a TV, not such good value when you are looking forward to a night away and a good meal.
