Local car park is much cheaper than the rate offered by the hotel. |

Amazing architcture and atmosphere, excellent attention to detail. The service is good but the food is somewhat overpriced. |

The staff at the hotel were brilliant - it made a refreshing change to experience such outstanding customer service. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Free broadband was also extremely useful. The car parking is fairly expensive (£20 per night) but we were told that this was comparable to other car parks in Oxford, except if you choose to use the P&R. We also didn't realise that we needed to book car parking in advance but this wasn't a problem fortunately. We initially found it difficult to find the hotel - because it shares driveway with Oxford castle we weren't sure whether we should drive the car down or if there was a car park at the back so we ended up going round the block a couple of times! We had dinner in the Brasserie on our first night and found it good value for money and the food itself was delicious. Breakfast was very good as well. The rooms are quite unusual given that the building is a former prison and quite spectacular - my only criticism being that as they are quite dark the lighting could be brighter in both the bedroom and the bathroom. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely go back. |

Room was fine albeit a bit small. No bath! Been before and converted cells were better and bath available! Mini bar well stocked but no snacks with tea/coffe maker! Would not have wanted to pay any more than the laterooms price! Car parkinng extra so parked overnight off site very nearby for £2.00. Hotel location first class!! |
