Although I'm not a golfer, I ended up at this hotel as it was a good deal, and enjoyed my stay.
The room was very clean and quiet and the extra teabags I requested were with me in an instant! The only minor gripe I had was that there was no radio, and none to borrow - I could have dione with that, rather than Sky Sports, but I do appreciate that I was in a sporty hotel!
Breakfast was very good.

the food was very good from the restraunt menu but this visit the breafast was not self service and the portions were on the small side, but it was good quality food to start the day. i was given a room at first which had a broken loo seat but i was very quickly offered another room with no hassel at all. On the down side was the (2 beds) fastened together to make one large bed, there was a marked difference in the height which made for a little discomfort. Overall with the discounted rate this was a good value clean hotel and i will be staying there again when the price is right.

Reception was friendly and efficient.
Room was clean and huge comfortable bed. TV - good channel selection. There was an internet keyboard gizmo but it didn't work.
I selected this hotel as it claimed to have room Wifi service. This was not present and I was unable to connect to get work done.
I ate in the 'open plan' restaurant. VERY VERY not recommended. the bar staff were clueless. I ordered just a main course which was the Blade of Beef.
Aptly named - except it maybe should be called blade of grass for the nutritional value it provided. There was a squiggle of mashed potato and a very small mound of meat.
It was about three lean fork fulls and took me about twenty seconds to clear the plate. At least it only cost a measly GBP 16.95 eh?
Value for money - not. Tasty - not enough of a sample to tell. Thankfully there were 2 sachets of biscuits in the room - presumably provided so that dinner guests do not die of starvation in the middle of the night. I'll try somehwere else next time.

Convenient location but a little strange - huge open plan reception / bar / restauarnt area, with a mezzanine above recption containing stuffed scarecrow-like figures playing the piano and singing. O bviouisly popular for weddings, golf days etc, but almost deserted the night I was there, echoing and rather barn-like; just a touch reminiscent of The Shining. Room OK, nothing special, bar food fine, but no real beer, and probably the most ethereally beautiful (and efficienct) waitresses at breakfast I've ever seen in the UK - seemed to be English as well which is most unusual. All in all a mildly surreal experience.

The hotel is relatively small and therefore nowhere within is very far from the function room. Unfortunately on both nights of my stay a Wedding Reception was being held in the function room, which my room overlooked. The noise from the disco - which continued untill 0100 on the first night at 2359 on the second - was extremely loud and not conducive to sleep. So, if you have a choice select rooms on the west side of the hotel - just in case a modern day Jimmy Saville is working. Not being a party-pooper (I was a Radio and Disco D.J. myself in a past life) but additional soundproofing should be considered.
Did not have Dinner at the hotel, but the self service Full English Breakfast was excellent and the waiting staff attentative and brisk.
There was a problem when I checked out. Reception staff seemed unaware of the rate I had contracted via laterooms.com and attempted to charge me the rack rate. They didn't get away with it !!
