Easy to find just off the motorway. Stunning views from the room and we were uprgraded to a room with a balcony. Nice pool and golf practice range. Little golf course looked fun but we didn't have time to test it. Excellent food and good breakfast with a wide choice. Hotel was very quiet when we were there. Would certainly use it again.

This hotel is beautifully situated in a wonderfully quiet location surrounded by mountains but also only ten minutes from the beaches. It also has large airey rooms. It is a golfers paradise with a driving range, 18 hole course and pitch and putt all surrounding the hotel.
The hotel has two restuarants. The food was of a very high standard as was the service in the main restaurant. But more than one meal was spoiled because the hotel had no clear policy on smoking in the main restuarant. For a restaurant serving meals at 40-60 Euros per head this is unforgiveable. Strangely the bar restuarant which served 10-15 Euro's snacks had a no smoking policy but the main restuarant appeared to have none. For a quality hotel this seemed very odd indeed. In England we would have walked out and refused to pay but this hotel is several miles from the nearest alternative and we were there to relax.
This hotel really has the potential to be a very good international hotel but not enough staff speak English in my opinion, one member of staff was quite "hostile" for no apparent reason. The majority of staff were very good though, and two or three were outstandingly good. There appeared to be no real evidence of management being actively monitoring day to day operations. We never saw the hotel manager and were never asked if everything was to our satisfaction.
The outdoor area for relaxing and sunbathing was very small for quite a large hotel and had little shade and there really was no alternative, this would appear to be a major design flaw. The outdoor pool was also quite small. Considering the acres allocated to golf it is strange that no more than 20 people could be accommodated poolside.
I think we would probably stay here again because despite the above reservations it is a good hotel but with its location and design it really could be exceptional.
In conclusion I would say this hotel is mainly very good but has some issues with staffing and structural design flaws. Management should be more visible. I don't generally mind trying to communicate in the language of the country I visit but this is not a cheap hotel and we were left wondering if the management of this hotel really want an international clientèle, if the answer is yes.. then English needs to be more widely spoken ?

This hotel is set in a delightful hillside location a short distance inland from the coast but within easy striking distance of Salou and all it offers. It is styled as an old Catalunian castle and is very attractive. We made full use of the indoor spa pool and lounged around on the adjacent patio overlooking the golf course and driving range. The golf course has several short holes and it was obviously been used by learners a great deal so if you fancied trying your hand, then it would be a good place to start. Breakfast was an extensive buffet and everything we needed. Very pleasant room and facilities. Superb reception staff.
