The Manor is conveniently situated in the quiet rural village of Torthorwald, away from town centre noise, but just
2 miles off the A75 Dumfries by-pass on the A709 and eight miles from the M/A74 main North/South trunk road at Lockerbie. The Hotel not only boasts comfortable rooms but also a wide choice of food with superb menus both in the bar and the restaurant, and more importantly at affordable prices, cooked on site by our two expert chefs. Food is available seven days a week at lunch time and in the evenings. All the bedrooms are en-suite and carry many of the little extras.As well as a friendly village bar there is also a coffee lounge and spacious restaurant.
A selection of Sky TV channels are available in the bedrooms and Sky Sports is available on large plasma screen in the bar. Free Wi-Fi Internet access is also now available Externally there is a childrens play area and a beer garden, and parking is no problem either with the hotel having its own large car park. If you are on a long trip, whether business or pleasure this is the place to unwind. Simply park your car and let us do the rest.

From the NORTH or SOUTH follow the main M74 Motorway to Junction 17/18 at Lockerbie and take the A709 Dumfries sign. Follow this road through the town of Lochmaben and when you reach the next village of Torthorwald the hotel is on the left hand side on the corner. You will see the flags flying.If travelling from Stranraer then follow the A75 until you reach the A709 Lockerbie sign on the Dumfries bypass. We are approximately two miles on the Right Hand side.

A lovely peaceful spot. The Hotel is set back from the road and we weren't aware of any traffic noise.
We were made to feel very welcome, were shown to our room by Ken, the owner which seems rare these days and he carried the heaviest bag !
There's a quiet bar area for hotel guests and diners and a good real ale is served.
The menu was interesting with plenty of choice and there was a good wine list. The waiting staff were all friendly and well trained. Breakfast was freshly cooked from good quality ingredients
The room was small for a double but absolutely fine for an overnight stay. We appreciated the fact that there was mineral water in the room. En suite facilities were fine.
