Penrose Bed and Breakfast

1 The Terrace, Lostwithiel

Penrose is a beautiful victorian house with large ensuite bedrooms. Most of the rooms have views over Lostwithiel and the surrounding countryside. All the rooms have TV & DVD/CD player, hairdryer and a luxury beverage tray including bottled mineral water; the ensuites have fresh towels, shampoo/conditioner and shower gel. Wifi is free and there is also a computer to use. Please note this is a non-smoking hotel, smoking is permitted outside and an umbrella is available for those wet times!
The centre of town is a 5 minute walk where there are lots of pubs, restaurants, river walks, shops, church and lots more. Penrose is only 10 minutes away from the Eden Project and Lanhydrock House and gardens.
We need to point out that Laterooms do not take the payment of your stay on you making the booking, even though you have given your card details. At Penrose B&B we can accept cash or a sterling cheque on your departure, as we are not set up to accept credit cards. Arrangements can be made for companies to pay by cheque via the post. We hope this does not affect your staying with ourselves. Many thanks Chris & Heidi.

From the A30, come off at Bodmin and follow the signs for Lostwithiel, and you will end up coming down Tanhouse Road to the main road (opposite a fish & chip shop). Turn right on to the main road and follow around the bend and up the hill for 150 yards, turn right into Scrations Lane, Penrose B&B is first on your right. We have parking for 8 cars.

This B&B is a little gem, not only were the hosts very nice, but were extremely organised, with maps of the local places to eat and good information on all of them.
The room was spacious and clean, and it's the little things that help, from a corkscrew and wine glasses in the room to games and shower gel.
Good value for money and a great atmosphere.

The house is lovely but on a main road with sash windows. The room we stayed in had 80's decore and terrible colour combinations. The Tv didn't have a signal and the layout impractical. Really nice people though if alittle layed back.

Quality of the welcome was exceptional. Excellent cooked breakfast included in the price, even though details state continental. Good to have single occupancy rate available (we retired folk are not all made of money!!)

Food was excellent, all very friendly and the overall experience a pleasure. The room is so nice with all services and with a lovely view.
Easy to find as there are signs in the main the road. Recommended.
