We had room 2 which is a corner room with a great view over the bay onto Wales. There was plenty of space in the room, and although the matress was very firm, we did sleep well. We stayed on a Friday which on this occassion was bad news as we are approaching Christmas and there were 2 works parties in the main restaurant. This meant that everyone had to eat in the bar at the carvery and the parties alos had their pre-meal drinks in there. There was absolutely no room to have a sit and a drink either before or after the meal, which was a shame. I think at a quieter time it might be quite nice, but watch out for the weddings as they are also licenced to officiate the wedding service - could be busy them too on Saturdays.

Reception staff very friendly with a warm greeting and even took myself and my wife to our room.
The room was warm and clean and well presented. Although the decor and bathroom is well overdue a re-furbish. We decided to use the bar for our evening meal which we found very warm and welcoming with an oldie worldie feeling. The food was fine but the waitress was not helpfull and certainly not friendly to outsiders but was friendly with the locals!!!! "Perhaps it was that Grockel" feeling!!!!!
This we felt this took the polish off the stay, the waitress at breakfast was the complete opposite and could not do enough for us or the other guests at a very busy breakfast period. She was French? I think. Once again on checking out the reception staff were very good.
