We were extremely pleased with the Manor House. It was closer than we thought to the centre of Bath. The owners were brilliant, very helpful and welcoming. They had suggestions for restaurants, taxi firms, bars etc... Our room was fantastic, exactly what we needed and like a home from home. We'll definitely be staying here again when we return to Bath.

Excellent hotel. Telly was pretty old and shower was a tad weak but all in all the stay was excellent and the surroundings are idyllic.

The Manor House is pleasant and is located in a lovely quiet village. Excellent food 3 minutes walk away. Room furnishings were basic but acceptable. Because of this, I felt it was over-priced.

This really is a beautiful manor house nestled in a lovely valley. If you want the best of both worlds - small historic city and rolling countryside - this is the place to stay. The taxi from Bath station costs just under £9 and takes just under ten minutes. Considering a bus costs £3.50 for a single, this is not bad value. Especially since the buses only run every half hour - every hour on Sunday (or not at all if you plan to take the one near the Wainwright pub).
If you fancy a gentle stroll in the local area the owners will give you options and draw maps to guide you around. It is very pleasant around there with canal walks and tea gardens giving it that English country feel.
We stayed in the Silk Room and were impressed with the size and general decor. The misty view from the bay windows in the morning was pretty magical. The en-suite is a touch small with a shower and toilet - the wash basin is in the main bedroom. Also the fire place is not in use. However, this does not detract from the experience in any way - I just thought I'd warn you.
The owners are incredibly helpful, breakfast was served on time and was very tasty, however I felt the cooked vegetarian breakfast lacked something. Probably because it was the cooked breakfast minus the meat i.e. eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes. I do like big, busy, cooked breaksfasts. The meat did look lovely.
Would recommend to anyone wanting a romantic weekend away in an old manor house. It certainly delivers.
