Room small and overheated but quiet, no mirror near power socket for hairdrying, dim lighting in room, bed very comfortable. Food portions large, food tended to be heavy and lacking taste.
Public rooms very grand, Spa excellent, grounds lovely.
Value OK at discounted price, poor at rack rate.

Great location, great service throughout, attentive but not over-bearing or pompous.
Room in the main house was exceptional, incredibly comfortable and very cosy.
Would have expected a little more from the restaurant for £60 a head. Not bad just not as good as the rest of the hotel, although the service was faultless here as well.

My bathroom did not have a shower and this was not pointed out to me at reception, so was a disappointment. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and for the price I paid I had expected to at least be able to make myself a drink in the morning. The food in the Pavallion restaurant was Italian based and excellent. The staff were very polite and the bedroom was very warm. I only had patio doors onto a balcony and no window to open so could not get any fresh air into the room without opening the doors, which was not good.
