Very warm & friendly greeting as soon as we walked into reception, they even let us in an hour early. Room was warm, modern & spotless, everything in it's place, great LCD TV. Massive bar area although lunch was pricey at £7 for sandwich and crisps. We would have liked to have seen more lunch options on the menu. Spa was superb & clean, great swimming pool. Very quite in the evening, nice big TV in bar area to watch X Factor on. Breakfast was out of this world, so much to choose from we didn't know where to start. Winchester city was only a 20 min drive away too! Can't wait to return to this hotel next year for a longer stay. |

First you need to know its a little out of the way. So Winchester etc is a wee bit of a drive. Set in area of land its a very modern hotel complex. (There is an original big house there but we never stayed there.) Room was great everything perfect, quite contemporary, high standard, great bed. Shower , no bath (at least in our room) but didnt bother us. The room was spotless but I mark them down a little because "stuff" accumulated in the corridors on a couple of occasions that just took the look of a very nice place. All rooms looked to have good views so you'll be unlikely if you dont get one. Spa and Pool was great. Try the hot ceramic tiled loungers. The hotel was very busy and we were recommended to make a reservation for dinner. DO! even with reservations the resturant reception was a bit backed up but I have to say we arrived 15 minutes early and were seated on 10 minutes late. Get a drink in the bar and take it upstairs with you in case you have a wait. Have to say the way The Resturant Manager handled the delays was brilliant. Food was worth waiting for and service was good. Breakfast on Sunday was good. All in all a good break. But be warned its a popular venue but a spacious environment and room for everyone. Looking forward to going back. I recommend you join their newsletter. |
