Excellent hotel with nice room & staff. There was a good selection for breakfast, full English was nice. Having off street parking was useful and use of nearby fitness club was a great feature. |

I arrived to find the hotel locked up, and after a 3hr drive, this was a bit disconcerting. After a few minutes a neighbour arrived to issue me with my room key. From this time, until the next morning, I saw no-one. This is not a hotel. Surely, in a hotel you can get an evening meal, you couldn't at the Ruskin Hotel. They had a bar, which was in darkness. There was no information in the room about the hotel or the area. I had to venture out in the dark to find somewhere to eat. The television reception was awful. The room was comfortable, but a little customer service wouldn't go amiss! If i had known i couldn't eat or drink there, i wouldn't have stayed. |

hotel seemed to be run remotely and there was never any staff around to deal with queries. I felt concerned from a health and safety point about this. |

A really nice Victorian house which was very enjoyable to stay in.It was a very cold weekend but the hotel and room were very comfortable and warm. The manageress was very friendly and very informative. The breakfast was quite simply superb and really sets you up for the next days travel.I would heartily recommend this establishment to potential guests and readers of this review. My wife actually stated that she preferred a place like this with character than some of the other 4/5 star hotels we have stayed at in Harrogate. |
