First impresions were of a small hotel that had seen better days. We had booked a on suite double room and were given a family room which had a double bed and two bunks which would have been very suitable for a family with 2 children. The room and bed linen were spotlessly clean and delighters of flowers and teddy bears were on the beds. The evening meal was a real eye opener. My wife ordered a prawn cocktail started and scampi and chips for the main course and I ordered a lamb shank. When the prawn cocktail arrived It was larger than the main course at some other places where we had eaten and I had to hurredly cancel the scampi and chips as it wouldn't have been eaten. The lamb shank melted in my mouth but the plate was filled to the point of overflowing. The following morning at breakfast we had to ask the landlord not to give us too much as we were still feeling the effects of the evening meal. We were made to feel welcome by the owners of the hotel and also the locals who were very chatty. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice quiet stay, with good basic food and a friendly atmosphere. |
