The hotel is beautiful - in a fairly remote mountainous region that has breathtaking views from every window. We had a family room that was extremely large - a four-poster bed and two other single beds made up for our children (6 and 10). We had a beautiful balcony (perfect for the summer evening). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and advised us on things to do during the day. The children made use of the pool in the grounds. Our only issue was that, as a small hotel, there was no provision for evening meals before 9.00pm - 'the Spanish way' - but not helpful when you have ravenous 6 and 10 year olds to cater for. It would also have been nice to have been able to by a drink before that time too. We ended up feeding the kids in the room earlier (it was at least large enough for that) and then eating later in the restaurant ourselves. It is a signficiant drive to the nearest alternative for food. The restaurant was a very pleasant glass fronted room - but the food was rather amateurish rather than gourmet. However, service and ambience makes up for a lot. Would recommend if you need a comfortable and scenic break for a night or two - but do not expect hotel flexibility or amenities beyond the level of an excellent B&B. |
