the standard room was so large i felt agoraphobic, service was - if not entirely british - prompt and delivered with a smile. the garden pond could do with some care but it would be very harsh to pick faults. quiet, unobtrusive, helpful, well appointed and overall excellent. wished all my hotel experiences were like this one.

Generally a pleasant hotel, well situated - quiet location within easy walk of centre. Age showing - Rooms small and can be airless in summer-bathrooms nicely refurbished in modern style but not always practical - Needs more attention to detail in rooms - e.g. broken basin plugs in bathrooms, broken sash cords on windows, phone flashing with 3 week old messages. 2 visits now - generally recommended.

We may stay at this hotel again as it is conveniently situated and on a good bus route, also car parking is available in the street outside the hotel and is free overnight. The food was of good quality but the choice was limited and the same menu was presented on every night we were there.
