Best Western Lime Trees Hotel

8 Langham Place, Northampton

A Town House Hotel in the heart of Northampton within easy reach of the town centre and surrounding attractions such as Althorp House, Silverstone racing circuit and some wonderful countryside. The Lime Trees Hotel offers a fine restaurant and cosy bar, secure courtyard car park and quality accommodation. The charming appearance of the Georgian frontage and the Mews courtyard at the rear are matched by the immaculately and well maintained bedrooms. Located centrally, half a mile from Northampton town centre, but close to the M1, the hotel is a good base for exploring the many surrounding attractions. All bedrooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard providing all modern facilities to ensure a pleasant stay for all. An ongoing refurbishment of the rooms has been taking place since 2005 and many have now been taken to a very respectable 3 star superior finish. In and around the area there are many local attractions such as Althorp House, the former home and final resting place of Diana, Princess of Wales. Also ideally located for Silverstone, home of British Motor Racing, although book early for the Grand Prix and the Balloon festival that takes place each summer. Billing Aquadrome an extensive and popular area of water just 3 miles south east of Northampton, is home to powerboats, jetskis, fishing and bird watching. A pleasure park, amusement centre, swimming pool and fast food outlets complete the picture.

Liked the hotel though a bit rambling upstairs . Pleasant and helpful staff.Quite nice public areas. Room comfortable . Bed comfortable. Only negative - very tired carpet in otherwise pleasant bedroom and bed throw was so dark it sucked all the light from the room.

The address given by the hotel was not recognised by my satnav, no idea if it was the satnav or the address that was at fault. The carpark is down a small drive to the side of the hotel and I had to call the hotel to be directed in, it would be great is the signage could be improved. When I got into the hotel the reception and bar staff were very welcoming and room was recently renovated with a beautiful bathroom. I ate breakfast at the hotel and the service was swift and the food delicious and hot! I definitely recommend this hotel to colleagues and friends.

Everything about the hotel was fine, however when I got up in the morning at 5.30am as i had to be in London early, there was no hot water so I had to have a cold shower.....................not exactly what you need at 5.30am!!!!!!

Evening Meal was fine but Breakfast left much to be desired and was overpriced.
Room in Annex was comfortable but too cramped.
Shower was poor with variable temperature of water and low pressure flow.

Unfortunately I booked a double room with laterooms but arrived and was put in as single. As there was apparently no other room available I had to stay in this room (although I was able to negotiate a discount). The heating was on upon arrival and could not be turned off from the room. As a sole female traveller staying on the ground floor I did not feel happy with leaving the non-restricted windows open and so had to combat the heating with a largely ineffective air conditioning unit! Whilst the hotel turned the heating off on request the first night, I returned on the second night to find the heating on full once again. Car park was very small and was reached by a poorly maintained road which was not sufficiently sign posted from the road outside the hotel.
Staff were polite and helpful but this did not improve my stay.
