I requested a non smoking room, but the first room smelt strongly of stale cigarettes, and the bathroom light did not work. Was given a second room, but the bathroom sink was being worked on when I entered room. This room also smelt of cigarettes. The third room was acceptable, but there was a stale smell ( not as bad as previous rooms), and the cleaning of the toilet around the seat was poor. Apart from this, the room was good, a very comfortable bed, and quiet. The shower could not be adjusted below very hot, and was bordering on dangerous. It was not up to standard for a four star hotel, and needs refurbishment and someone, (perhaps the Manager), to inspect the "detail" and ensure standards are set. |

After a long drive what you need is a friendly comfortable hotel..this was neither. Checking in felt like a fast food queue. The room was a lot smaller than the price suggested. The bathroom towels had seen better days and a hole in the bed sheets (discovered at 1.00am) just added to a miserable stay. checked out a day earlier than planned. The Galway Bay was celebrating its 10th Birthday and I would be surpirised if it made it to 11. !!!!! |
