A lovely hotel in the old quarter of Madrid. The Palace and all the major sights were within easy walking distance. The hotel was having the lobby refurbished while we were there but this made no difference to the standard of cleanliness, apart from a little dust the hotel did everything to minimise the disruption. The staff were extremely helpful, booking trips, taxi's to the airport, giving general tourist advice. All together a great hotel in a fabulous location. |

We had a wonderful stay - Superior room no. 505 - fresh towels and linen every day and toiletries replenished daily. Free mini bar was great (mostly non-alcoholic apart from a beer). 2 small terraces (why 2, I've no idea, the wall would have been better demolished between them to make 1 terrace!) Terrace has 'highish' solid walls and isn't very big, so you feel like you're sat in a tank! Although it was sunny late afternoon for a couple of hours. No outdoor chairs either unfortunately. Hotel in a great position and minutes from Metro. We got the metro from airport to hotel. Very efficient. However if your bag doesn't pull along (as ours didn't) it is a long walk from Terminal 1 to metro station - so ensure you get a baggage trolly for it!! Would highly recommend the hotel and Madrid for a great short break. |
