The hotel was quite nice but did not have the wow factor that you might expect from a hotel in this price range. There were not enough staff at breakfast. |

A very warm welcome on arrival, staff very friendly & helpful. The room we stayed in was called "PARTRIDGE" & the only disappointment we experienced was the room must be near a boiler room which we could hear through out the night, also the room was above the exit door to the car park which you could hear banging when people were coming & going. Lovely country Hotel would certainly stay again but would request a different room. |

We arrived at 9pm on a Friday night and went straight to dinner, a little later than planned. We were greeted bya friendly waiter who immediately offered us a drink - a great start. There was a really good selection of wine at a variety of prices, and the waitress was very happy to recommend one in our (low!) price range. The food was presented beautifully and tasted excellent. All the waiting staff were polite, friendly and helpful - and didn' t get in the way. Our room was really spacious and old-school chic - very comfy and just the right amount of smart to be comfortable in. We awoke to a beautiful misty Autumn morning, had a delicious breakfast in a calm, if slightly hushed dining room and then a short attempt at tennis on the hotel's court. Unfortunately the outside pool was being cleaned, but looked very serene, as were the rest of the gardens. All in all, with the Late Rooms discount, £200ish got us a lovely night's stay with fantastic dinner and breakfast. I would definately stay again. |
