I read some poor reviews the day before I left and as I had to book an extra evening I mentioned this to the hotel. They were aware of the reviews and I said that I hoped it wasn't to be as bad as the picture the reviews painted. I was pleasantly surprised to find the room and service were good. Breakfast was good but it's a rather large unwelcoming room for so few people on a Sunday morning. Parking is easy - a bonus for the town centre of Harrogate. |

We needed a hotel in the centre of Harrogate as we were attending a Christmas party in the centre. We therefore needed a hotel that was reasonably priced, clean and central. The hotel was all of this and also had the added bonus of free parking. |

We were a group of two couples and two singles. The other couple had a reasonable room but ours was rubbish. Pokey is the best word I can use to discribe it, small, dark, not particularly clean, overlooked by the building next door so you couldn't have the curtains open, the tv was broken with buttons missing, the kettle had a short-circuting so didn't boil when I tried to use it but woke us up at 3.30am after it came on all by itself. For some reason our bathroom had facilities for disabled people (ie emergency pull cord, support bars around toilet etc) but there was barely enough room to walk round the bed, let alone get a wheelchair in the room, we were also on the 3rd floor, furthest along the corridor away from the main lift (the other lift was broken). Oh, and to top it off, the bed cover was a cheap wool blanket with a throw over the top, not particularly warm and horrible to touch!! |
