What makes a hotel a great place to stay? It could be the comfort of a pleasant room in a 17th century building close to all the sites of Florence, the Renaissance church of San Lorenzo, the Medici Chapels, famous for their 7 sculptures by Michelangelo who also incidentally designed the chapel, the fabulous outdoor market full of scarves, leather goods, sweaters , jewellery, you name it they've got it. It could be a friendly helpful staff that will make you feel at home, speak your language, give you a map, suggest where to eat and shop, plan an itinerary for the day and for the rest of your trip. And then make you the most delicious cup of cappuccino in a dining hall full of Tuscan paintings and ceramics. The Hotel Nuova Italia offers you all of this and some!
All of our rooms have private bathrooms, direct dial telephones sat-TV, air conditioning, airport windows and screens.The rooms have been recently renovated: new furniture, drapes, bed covers, lighting.
We can get your car parked in a jiffy for a moderate rate and if you have children under 12 and need a 4 bedded room, we can provide you with one, too.
The train station is a few minutes away, the Congress Hall down the street. What more can you ask for! The Hotel Nuova Italia is in the middle of it all. ....and the you will have a million questions to ask us. Well, our motto is "JUST ASK!!!".

DO NOT let the 2 star rating put you off at all. This is a very well run ffiendly family run hotel, within easy walking distance from the central station, close to all necessary local conveniences, bars, cafes, restaurant and market square. It is a simple straight stroll down into Duomo and for those after an authentic theatrical mask - not one of your mass produced tourist ones - there is a shop a couple of doors away that produces quality crafted masks. The staff all spoke and understood English very well indeed and were very helpful indeed. There is no elavator in this great old hotel but the character stone stairs are wide and shallow which makes for an easy climb, and the wide variety of artwork adorning the walls adds a certain interesting charm to the hotel/ On the whole a competitively priced 2 star hotel that I shall be using again when I return to this beautiful city.
