The food was excellent, a really tasty breakfast. The service was quick and efficient but the room was a little tired. In need of updating. We were also told this was a seaview room but you could only see a tiny speck of the sea, if you looked really carefully! The room also had a musky smell on arrival. We would only stay here again if we got the same price deal again. |

Very nice hotel bit of the beaten track.Sat nav took us to it.ok to walk into town but up very long hill to return.Taxi only £4.00. Nice gardens not much of a sea view on lower floor.Room clean and tidy.Staff very freindly and approachable. The staff when we stayed were probably the freindliest we have come accross in a long time.Check in was good and breakfast staff very polite and freindly Nothing was too much trouble.Facilities good.We will definately stay here again. |

The staff were very professional. On arrival (10 mins early) we found our room wasn't ready and as I was feeling very unwell the receptionist allowed me lie down in another room until our room was ready, which was very much appreciated. The hotel was nice if a bit worn, it is in need of some redecoration (paint/wallpaper pealing, window frames rotting in dining room etc) Our room was very old fashioned and hadn't been decorated in a long time - definitely wouldn't pay full price to stay here. It is very noisy also - I have never stayed in a hotel that was so noisy before. You can here everyone walking past the corridor and the people walking about upstairs. We are a young couple and it didn't bother us too much but I can see how many people would be annoyed, especially if you are a light sleeper. We ate dinner once in the dining room and enjoyed it very much! Hotel had an extensive spa/treatment/gym area which we didn't have time to use during our stay. Probably would recommend hotel to someone looking to make use of the treatments and isn't too bothered about a high quality room. |

The other reviews (largely) reflect the nature of this hotel... Yes, it is now perhaps a little jaded by time but its former splendor still shines through and it has an olde-worlde charm - remeniscent of a more gracious time (there's a billiards and snooker room - how delightful !). There is an ongoing refurbishment programme (not visibly intrusive) and the leisure centre, pool, gym (very well equiped) and spa are all in excellent condition. Our room (on the sun terrace with superb sea views) was comfortable and spacious although the decor was a little tired. |
