The Castle Hotel

Really warm welcome on arrival, and receptionist seemed to be only staff member other than the the chef, so she served me at dinner too - very friendly and chatty.
Was a bit unsure of what to do at breakfast though, and the new waitress seemed either grumpy/tired or new??
You need to warn people about Steep Hill - the approach to hotel if walking up from the station - it nearly killed me!

Lovely hotel, great location and a good price for Lincoln. Breakfast good and room perfect. Limited parking, especially if you have a large car. Would stay again

Breakfast was excellent. Fantastic location at the top of the hill, near the cathedral & castle, staff friendly & helpful. Nice old fashioned hotel with lots of character.
Rooms in the annex have their own front door so great if you are planning on being back late, but are a little dark - so we asked to change room. It was no problem but they couldn't give the same room for 3 consecutive nights so we had the attic room for one night (lovely, fresh, clean and bright but the hot water didn't work); and another room for 2 nights - reasonable size but minor re-decoration needed.
We particularly recommend: Browns pie shop (a proper restaurant not a pie shop!) and the cathedral roof tour - in the rafters of the building.

The hotel is in an ideal location,and was suitable for our one night stay.The room we stayed in was in need of modernisation,and had abit of a drab colourscheme...but it was nice and clean.The breakfast was good,with ample selection.
Overall,we were happy with the hotel,but a little disappointed with the room,as it was classed as an executive double,and was £109!

Very pleasant. Near the Castle, the Cathedral and a selction of pubs clubs and shops in the old City. Trust the satnav if it takes you under an old archway and across the cobbles - you have legitimate access. Hotel is set back a little bit, but if you reach the Castle pay and display car park you're there.
