The Manor Hotel

Brecon Road, Crickhowell

The Manor sits at the foot of the ancient fortress, Table Mountain. Situated in the beautiful Usk valley within the Brecon Beacons National Park and close to the pretty market town of Crickhowell, we are superbly located for lots of outdoor activities.
With 22 individual styled bedrooms, The Manors interior is honest and unpretentious. Our Bistro overlooks the valley encroached by an impressive escarpment and below the river Usk. Our food is quintessentially British, we believe in simple, unfussy food, using seasonal produce. 90% of the meat and poultry served at our restaurant comes from our family farm just down the road. ¬So we know exactly what our animals have been fed throughout their life, and hope this will also lessen our carbon impact on the environment.
With a leisure suite, swimming pool and Jacuzzi, The Manor hotel is the perfect country get away – it provides ideal, affordable accommodation to recharge and refresh in a clean, green, natural environment.

Quite possibly the warmest welcome I have ever had in over 20years staying in hotels. Gym well equiped, jaccuzi was great. Room good sized, very clean, LCD TV and a huge comfy bed! Free Wi-Fi a bonus. Liked the fact that I could eat from the dinner menu in the bar area and not made to eat the restaurant (as so many hotels do). Breakfast was good to. Overall this hotel could teach most on how to make guests welcome. For the cost it was outstanding. Oh yeh, and the surrounding view of the Welsh countryside is just an added bonus......

This was booked for a special occasion, my husbands 50th birthday. I only needed to book one night as we had had a party on the friday night, so the price of £125.00 was due to that fact. The booking was for a superior room, well if that was their superior room i dread to think what the standards were like! I did query this with the manager but he said that they were fully booked and this was a superior room, dont stay in room 8. The room was basic, although i would say slightly bigger than normal, the curtains did not fit the window and there were no blinds, which was a bit difficult as the window was to the floor and looked out onto a public sitting area!! The double bed had obvioulsy been put in at a later date as the space was big enough for a kingsize or bigger, no fancy bedding, plain sheets, no blanket. The bathroom smelt of damp and would only allow one person in there due to the extra small size, barely bigger than a cupboard! The food was excellent and the hotel entrance was quite nice, maybe the older side of the hotel would be better bedrooms. When we went to pay our bill the next morning they had put another tables food along with ours on the bill, so that took time to work out. All in all a very disappointing stay for an extra special occasion, the price was in no way reflective of the standard, very expensive for a basic room, the staff were unorganised and the manager not helpful. I would not recommmed this to a friend and we will not be staying here again.
