Recently awarded Quality in Tourism 4 Stars, Thornbank House is a small friendly guest house situated within walking distance to both Bowness-on-Windermere,Windermere Village and the railway and bus station.We have private parking. Our breakfast menu is wide,varied and highly acclaimed.All our rooms are ensuite -hospitality,cleanliness and comfort are our watchwords. We are happy to offer you advice on all aspects of your holiday,including walking and touring this beautiful area. Packed lunches are available on request. Notice may be required.We have secure storage for push bikes. Horse riding,fishing,cycle hire and swimming both nearby, as is the challenging Windermere Golf Course.Check-in from Noon to 9pm. Please telephone reception to arrange later check-in. Check-out before 10.45am. Non smoking.Card details are taken to secure booking. Standard bank handling charge will be added to any card transactions.

Take junction 36 of M6 north bound (Barrow/Kendal). Take A591 to Kendal then onto Windermere(8 miles).At Windermere Village turn onto one way system. Travel through village on the Lake Rd to Bowness and the Lake.After 1/2 mile take 1st left Thornbarrow Rd -after pedestrian crossing. Thornbank House is blue sign on left.

What a lovely place, B & B excellent quality, food great, rooms really nice, although a little cold, and the hospitality extended from Mark and Jane was second to none. Would definately use this accomodation again.

Really lovely couple who own the hotel, made us feel really welcome. Have to say they do the best cooked breakfast I've ever had. Definately be going back again
