Could not use restaurant as was booked out for a function and did not have breakfast so can't comment on food. Ate at pub behind hotel that serves Nepalese food - very nice!
Room was good standard with very comfy bed but bit blander in style than I thought it would be from the website.
Service good when arrived, were told had been kept away from party area so would be quieter for us - unfortunatly still some noise but stopped at reasonable time.

The whole hotel reverberated with the noise of a disco from an event in the hotel's function room. The staff tried hard to deal with it, but it was simply too noisy, despite asking to be moved. Don't expect a good night's sleep until 1am if there's an event on.....!

A well situated hotel with easy access to M40 and several intimate pubs and restaurants in close proximity. The hotel is well decorated, clean and comfortable and food served in the restaurant/bar area was fabulous. It snowed heavily during my stay and whilst extremely cold outside the central heating system in the hotel was quite overpowering and made the rooms a uncomfortably hot. Reception also a little under manned during peak check out time meaning it took 15 minutes to check out with only two guests before me. However, would not hesitate to stay again and great value for money for the business traveller.

We came for a wedding. The dinner mains were cold by the time we got them. The staff tended to bunch together at one end of the room chatting, and should have been spread out and attentive. The breakfast food was reasonable, although the hot buffet lacked much taste. The pastries were comically small.
Our room was stiflingly hot and I had to throw open the windows, allowing the noisy A40 outside to filter in. The bridal suite (King's Suite) had faulty air conditioning. Other guests reported that their rooms were inexplicably cold.
On the positive front, the water was hot, the shower was good, and the rooms were decorated in an attractive chocolate colour, each room with its own distinctive decoration. Sadly, this decor was carried out into the corridors, which were somewhat dark and claustrophobic.
I think we paid less on LateRooms than the advertised discounted room price for wedding guests, which is an interesting approach to marketing!
All in all, not a bad experience, but it could have been a lot better if a few things had been improved.
