The Old Mill Hotel is set in private grounds within the heart of Lancashire and overlooking the Rossendale Valley, Which is within a couple of minutes of the extensive north west motorway network and ideally situated for Manchester, Bury, Bolton, Blackburn and Burnley. The welcoming approach sets the hotel in a delightful tranquility.

If approching from the South on the M66 leave at junction 1 and stay in the right hand lane on the slip road, turning right at the end onto the A56.Continue on thisuntil you reach a set of traffic light where you turn left (there is a tourist signpost to the Old Mill at this junction)continue down into Ramsbottom, over the level crossing and through the village high street. straight over the traffic lights and up the hill and you will see signs for The Old Mill Hotel, which is down Springwood Street on your right.If approching from the North on the A56 then take the exit to Ramsbottom just before the motorway starts. Follow the road into Ramsbottom and turn right at the traffic lights in the centre of the village. Travel up the road a short distance and turn right into Springwood Street

A warm and friendly welcome, helpful and understanding reception staff. Prompt and smiling service in the bar and restaurant. Imaginative and original menus plus beautifully cooked and presented food. A long and winding road to the rooms but this is a part of the building's character. Not recommended for the severely handicapped. We were blocked in by an unexpected snowstorm and the staff could not have been more understanding and helpful. In all, a very pleasant experience.

It was a very pleasant hotel. The staff were very nice and friendly and the breakfast was very good. The rooms were clean and well furnished, with care taken over details. Good value for money and a nice location. It has good facilities and easy acess to both the Lancashire countryside and local towns and cities. We would definately stay here again.

Main problems with the hotel were the lack of security in the room, the long haul to the rooms with 3 bags up a series of stairs and narrow corridors and NO offer of assistance.There was no chain or internal lock on the room door. Walls very thin, kept awake by guest in adjoining room snoring all night. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious and warm. Food was over cooked. Plus a rubbish bin in my room had not been emptied from the previous guest. Reception staff a little casual in their welcome. I was booked to stay this week but have cancelled due to security and cleanliniess.

Service was really good on reception and restaurant. The hotel is a little tired however - the furntiure in the rooms are a little worn!
