The room was freezing due to the radiators not being turned on - bearing in mind this is mid December. We turned the radiators on, which worked fine, but it took hours for the room to warm up due to being an old country manor. The view out our window was of the back yard, including the maintenance shed. However, we were on a cheap deal, so I guess we got the cheap room. The room itself (particularly the bathroom) could do with some TLC. The buffet breakfast the following morning was adequate, but not brilliant, and not a help yourself buffet - so you couldn't load up with bacon or eggs or whatever - it was doled out to you, and you didn't feel you could ask for more, although I didn't try. The quality of the bacon and sausages were, let's say, not in the premium range, and the fried egg was rock hard. This was contrary to the experience my son had when he and his girlfriend stayed just a few weeks before, where breakfast was totally a la carte and fresh. Would I stay there again? Maybe, as it was a reasonable price, but not for the full rate.

Lovely hotel in the 1950's but it is a bit dated. Our room required a face lift and overhaul.
Nice surroundings and an interesting building. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Set in a beautiful location. Staff extremely polite and professional. Excellent value for money. Room was comfortable. Huge bathroom, but is a bit dated with green decor. Food was extremely tasy and great value for money. Would definitely re-visit.
