From North & South & West Leave the M6 at Junction 31 following signs for Blackburn A59. Continue along the A59. At traffic lights (petrol station on right) continue straight (A677. After 4-5 minutes you will pass the Windmill public house on left. Take the next road on the right: Further Lane. The driveway to Stanley House is the first left on this road.From the East Leave M62/M60 at Junction 15 (M61 north). At the end of the M61 follow the road onto the M6 northbound. Surroundings and lovely and peaceful.
The rooms are distinctive, well furised, stylish and very comfortable.
Service is friendly and efficient.
It is worth saving yourself for a cooked breakfast which is simple and perfectly cooked.
One of the best touches was instead of horrible UHT milk in nasty cartons there was a jug of fresh, cold, milk in the fridge, in the room, for tea and coffee. I know, I am easily pleased.

Stanley House is a wonderful haven - the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was well above my expectation and breakfast was superb - I cannot fault it and would certainly come back again. The website for this hotel does not do it justice.

Had a very nice stay over night at this hotel. Very unusual in design and 'boutique-y' in design. Staff very polite and helpful. Asked about wireless internet connection and Simon (front of house manager, I believe) offered to help with connection if any problem. Food in resaurant a bit pricy but very classy and tasty. Probably should have had a starter but main course was just about enough without feeling full. Difficult to understand the young chap waiting on the table, bit of a mumbler. All in all, room very pleasant with lovely bathroom. A bit dark but thats only because of the old buildings little windows.
Very good, pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone.
Only real critism is that I think wireless internet should be free especially in a top 4 star hotel, thanks

Lovely hotel, very friendly, genuine staff. Would definately recommend staying here. I would most definately stay here again when I need to stay in the area
