Disappointed that the bar closed early on a Sunday night. We had to buy tins & drink in our room. |

Excellent value for money, and the meal in the Restaurant was one of the nicest i have had in some time. All staff members were friendly & helpful. I paid for a small double room - but the room i got was one of the larger ones (Room 4) so i can't comment on the small rooms, |

Well located and excellent staff. Had breakfast there which was very good with good selection of food. As the hotel is located on a main road it can be a bit noisy and the internal sound insulation is not brilliant which means that other guests in corridors can b e disturbing. |

Upon arrival, the receptionist could not offer any details of the WiFi arrangements either in terms of how to access it or the cost. However, it was clearly not complimentary which i think is simple profiteering. The room itself was neat and tidy but very small for a double, for which the discount off the normal double room price was, I think, about £7. The room like the hotel generally was too hot and the air con unit (portable and designed to be plugged into the wall) was very noisy. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Soya milk was not available; the cooked breakfast did not offer any real alternative for vegetarians and te waiter merely offered helplessness as opposed to any constructive ideas - such as going to talk to the kitchen staff! Whilst £65 may be considered inexpensive i do not feel even that was value for money. If you are on a tight budget I would recommend a decent B&B instead if you can find one. Otherwise, go upmarket a bit. It's also a fair trek from the railway station if you are on foot. |
