Best Western Heronston Hotel

Good tidy hotel with good facilities although the spa pool & steam room under renovation which was a pity, pool area & sauna very good. Not able to get a drink from the bar during afternoon, but otherwise no problems with this hotel, good fresh breakfasts & nice bar meal in the evening.

Decent experience but would probably try somewhere else if staying in the area again soon.

The room was fairly nice and spacious, food was nice too but the general feel of the hotel and leisure facilities was a bit shabby. Also the room was extremely hot despite turning off all radiators and windows open fully. I think it was because of being close to the leisure facilities but it was very uncomfortable.

Waited 18 minutes for my breakfast order to be taken (3 staff waiting on, 20 guests in the restaurant). Coffee pot arrived, barely enough to fill a cup (and that i had to take from an adjoining table). Cooked breakfast was almost one rasher of bacon, a sausage, a spoonful of scrambled egg and 3 mushrooms. Room was large airy and comfortable, but not really any better than a family room in a Travelodge. Staff were courteous and apologetic, but if thisi represents their level of service , then pity help business users wanting a quick an efficient get-away in the mornings. This is the second Best Western hotel i've used in recent years and sadly i've had the same poor quality of food and speed of service on both occassions.
