The previous night to our stayu I rang (quite late, about 21:30) to confim everything was okay )the LateRooms confirmation letter was a little confusing...), and enquire what time our room would be available. A very pleasant girl told me that as our room was not being used the previous night we would be able to have it much earlier than the usual 15:00. When we arrived at aboput 13:00 the lady at reception told me we'd have to wait until 15:00 and that the room had been used..... Okay. I asked what Oakham was like... no idea, she was from Stamford! A pleasnat girl but could do with more local knowledge. The girl serving breakfast on the Monday, was lovely. Very courteous, helpful and served up good well presented food.. |

Hotel well-situated and convenient for Rutland Water. Beautiful and spacious room, recently refurbished to a high standard and a substantial breakfast buffet (Full English or continental style). Very pleasant and helpful receptionist. The only real negative point was the lack of evening restaurant facilities on site, but the Noel Arms across the road was well worth a visit so not a major drawback. Excellent value for money. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. |
