AS A POPULAR WEDDING VENUE THE HOTEL HAS A DISCO MOST FRIDAY & SATURDAY EVENINGS.Built as an Inn nearly two centuries ago the Hotel is set in its own grounds and overlooks the Ashburnham golf links. The hotel is on the edge of the Millennium coastal paths, cycle tracks and views of the Gower Peninsula. A short stroll and you will find the picturesque harbour of Burry-Port a haven for small fishing craft. The Ashburnham is truly set in a most wonderful area full of natural beauty and steeped in history. All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. The rooms have courtesy trays, colour televisions and free wireless internet connection. Direct dial telephone connection in all guest rooms for personal, business and confidential calls. The Hotel has seen many changes over the years. In more recent times has been extensively refurbished to provide patrons with a first class establishment where the comfort and personal service for our guests is always important. It was really nice to have been given the Amelia Earhardt room as this made us investigate the link between the hotel and the famous pilot. The hotel bar came across as being a bit cold and fuctional - it would benefit from some of the more comfortable seating being in the main area instead of being tucked away in the far corner close to the bar. Although the service was always polite, it could be a bit slow and came across as being more functional rather than 100% genuine. Having said all of that - we would quite happily stay at the hotel again.

Mattress poor and needs to be replaced. Tiles in bathroom just needed joints cleaning. On arrival, welcome was excellent. On booking out, we felt that we were stopping the member of staff getting on with her work. She barked the cost of staying, took the card, put in the machine and ran into the office. Came back after minutes and thrust the card and receipt into my hand, turned and dashed back into her office. We found it quite amusing - she did shout 'thaaanks' after I bade her farewell.

A very pleasant hotel indeed. My room was delightful with modern decor, a comfortable bed, a decent desk which was easy to work at and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with good reception and Freeview channels. The staff were extremely helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The receptionist even washed my trousers for me as I had spilt coffee on them before I arrived!
