The food was excellent and the wine list to die for, but although we were upgraded to a suite the noise from the street below
left us without sleep, it seems there are a few late night bars & discos very close to the Hotel.

A shower tap that came off in my hand and a breakfast that took 45 minutes to appear didn't exactly impress.
A once cool hotel that's badly in need of rescuing from the bean counters.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel du Vin in Birmingham. We ate in the restaurant on one night and the food and service were excellent. The hotel has a lovely calm ambience and the decor has a modern twist whilst remaining comfortable and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in Birmingham.

Found standard rooms a little small so upgraded. Stayed at front of hotel and was astounded at how noisy Birmingham was at 3am in the morning! Nothing at all to do with the hotel obviously but be warned! I seemed to have an incredibly noisy street cleaner going up and down the road several times! Then some noisy youths, then a police siren! Not a good nights sleep.
One other comment - spent £170 on room and would have expected a 'turn down' service.
