Pelham House was fairly expensive for the services provided, but it was pleasant and different. |

This is a lovely place to stay - a lovely old house with eccentric charm and a feeling of well established but welcoming grandeur. Our room was comfortable but not OTT, but then we did have a standard double. It had a lovely view of the gardens and the downs beyond. The hotel has a nice bar and throughout there are various arts of work from paintings to sculptures. The dinning room is gorgeous - old oak elaborate pannelling. The food was really good and not too extuationately priced. A great place to stay right in the centre of lewes but tucked away from the main roads. The service was good even though we did wait a while at times for food to arrive. |

Nice hotel but not very cosy - was expecting country house hotel style and public areas were eclectically modern and clinical. Food was ok but not as good as I was expecting and frankly poor value (almost amusingly small portion of sauteed baby veg side order for £4 - worked out at almost a pound per baby leek!). Very nice staff and guests are allowed to use the hotel computer to go online for free (or free Wifi in rooms). National calls from telephone in room are also free which was good. I would stay here again for business but only if I couldnt find a better value, slightly more comfortable alternative with a more appealing menu. |
