What a delightful experience! The hotel was hard to find from the instructions as they gave no sense of distance, but this is my only criticism! Once I arrived, the staff were fantastic, room was lovely and food was excellent. I had a dinner, bed and breakfast deal, which was really good. The hotel was quiet and somewhat old fashioned (in a nice way) One of the best experiences I have had in hotels in the UK. Ideal place for a nice rest and some good food - both dinner and breakfast were excellent - I can highly recommend the smoked salmon and soft scrambled eggs, made freshly to order. Will definitely return.

Very nice hotel with really great interiors and excellent food. Room 1 right above the Bar was suffering from noise from people enjoying themselves at the Bar. Room 2 was suffering from noise of people talking and phoning in the hallway at night.

This was a really beautiful hotel; however, as a single woman it was a little daunting to arrive when dark and have to drive through a farily long and wooded dirt track road to reach the hotel (it was clearly signposted however)
Restuarant and Bar area gorgeous and food superb
My room was an outdoor room - almost like a converted barn with beams etc. Excellent decor and superb facilities in the room.- really nice to see real coffee and gowns! - Downside - Bathroom could have done with updating and the floor was not too clean; however, jacuzzi bath was nice!
Room was a bit cold and bathroom very cold with no hot water in shower in morning (bath water was lovely) And on return from evening meal, noticed that although there was a curtain over the glass door which led directly into room - it was clearly 'see through' - again a little unsettling as a female traveller
All said - this is a lovely hotel and I was booked into a Single Superior Room (which was a double) so would suspect that the other superior rooms would be better

Great hotel. Superb value, great room and food was fabulous. Only criticism was that the tea and coffee in the roon should be more country hotel than travel lodge.
