Liverpool City of Culture Apartment

Firstly note this is a 7th floor apartment not a 23rd floor so it is incorrectly advertised. We wanted to check in at 1pm to make the most of the day. We were phoned late in the morning to be told no-one could let us in till 2.20pm but we could collect the key. We agreed to collect the key. When we arrived the key was not available. I called the owner and was told he couldn't make it till 2.20. As it was 23rd floor apartment we had took along our picnic to enjoy at the apartment along with the views. Instead we ended up paying for a meal in a pub whilst we waited for the owner to arrive and our picnic went to waste. When we were let in the place hadn't been cleaned properly. The bathroom is a mess with mildew and the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied. The beds are really uncomfortable as you can feel the springs. A matress topper would easy sort this out. There is no wardrobe space as it is full of things to clean the apartment with ie vaccum, mop, bucket etc and spare linen. Apart from this it is simply but nicely furnished. The views aren't as good as they would be from the 23rd floor but still pleasant. The kitchen has all you could want as it is very well equipped. It also has things you might not want like other peoples left over jams etc. The bin, despite this being a no smoking apartment smelt horribly of cigarettes. Oh and in case theres a fire don't forget to look under the dustpan and brush in the cupboard in case you need to find your way out. All in all a very nice, privately owned apartment that with a little TLC, the correct advertising and call the night before could have been a wonderful, relaxing break.

The room description should probably include the fact that this is a one bedroomed apartment. Both double beds in this bedroom.

Perfect location on 7th floor, the window view by the Mersey River was magnificent, perfect apartment for short stays, fully equiped kitchen, close to circular bus of the city, nice concierge guy, and very very warm welcome from the owner. He let us stay longer on the last day. Poor old lady, though; she showed up by mistake on TUESday morning to clean the appartment, instead of THURSday (the day we supposed to leave the hotel). All and all, we really enjoyed our stay. Surely had a wonderful time.
