Generally an excellect experience. Very helpful staff. We did E-mail asking for a bath rather than a shower, but got no response, but the shower was of an excellent standard which did compensate for the lack of a bath. Good breakfast experience, and quality of decor in bedroom was very good. Provision of face flannels and shower caps would have been helpful. There was a fridge and minibar in the room, and in view of this it was a pity that fresh milk was not offered for the tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom. The prices of the drinks in the minibar was excessive, and hence we did not use them! |

Hotel provided excellent quality for the price we paid, the room (#7) was excellent & much better than we expected. We decided not to eat in the Hotel as it was a Sunday night & nobody else was in the restaurant although the bar was reasonably busy. I would recommend staying here especially at the discounted rate I got. |

The hotel is very deceptive from the external at the front. You don't realise the class until you enter. Upon arrival we had to wait until the owner turned up with the laptop before we could check in. An inconvenience but nothing to bad. We had a good lunch from the bar menu while waiting. The room we booked was a suite (number 8 ). The first impression was a good size suite well furnished and comfortable. Now I may be a pit picky now being a surveyor and refurbishing many properties before. A few things that need addressed are the main tv needs tuned in properly. Poor picture and all stations scattered everywhere. A handle was broken on the mini bar area, the activator for the flushing mechanism on the toilet also got stuck all the time, nozzle caps on the spa bath had some missing. The bed was on the small side and not very comfortable. The wall paper is peeling off around the room and the lounge ceiling is badly stained by what I presume previous water ingress. The noise on a Saturday night outside the hotel up to 4am was more than annoying to say the least, maybe because the club at the hotel is open till 3am. However that is me being picky, overall the hotel was excellent, in a great location with great staff. Rooms always clean. The area is nice with excellent foot all round. Stirling is only 5 minutes away. Would go back. |

we stayed in room 14 which was in the attic, nicely decorated though you would have to be less than 5ft tall to miss hitting your head on the sloping roof, which my husband did on several occasions, the room was unbearably hot and the windows did not open more than 1inch,obviously they knew about this as there was a noisy fan in the room which kept you awake all night. There was no bulb in the bedside light and I tripped over the foot of the bed and and smashed my head against the glass topped coffee table and nearly knocked myself out, after a visit to the hospital the next day I am still left with "soft tissue"damage to my head, the receptionist's attitude to our tales of woe was just to say she would take a note of our complaints, certainly not worth the £100 we paid, would advise anyone staying here to check that their room is NOT in the attic |
