The White Hart Hotel has stood in Moretonhampsted square for three and a half centuries and has played a pivitol role in village life. Now fully restored, the White Hart offers fantastic locally sourced good food served in our brasserie restaurant. Moretonhampstead is a favourite for walkers, golfers and cyclists all year round who enjoy the fabulous surroundings that Dartmoor National park has to offer. The hotel enjoys easy access to Torquay, Plymouth, Exeter and the A30 to Cornwall. The en-suite bedrooms have been carefully refurbished and decorated, complete with those modern luxuries such as flat screen TVs and CD players. These are available for individual Bed and Breakfast bookings or for group bookings.

This is a very well managed and spotlessly clean hotel. Parking is in a public car park a few minutes walk away - we've never had a problem. The dining room is lovely however, it may be closed during quiet times. There is a bar which serves good food and in the past we have had our meal delivered to the room (when I had a cold)! The menu is on the good/very good side of OK and we've enjoyed a couple of really excellent meals in the main dining room where the covers are quite close together for the 2 seater tables. In the past, when the hotel has been busy, it has a great atmosphere, excellent decoration and the staff are really friendly and care about their guests.

We had a great stay at The White Hart, however we were dissapointed with the food.
Bar was great, Menu was great, food was dissapointing.

Despite the hotel and its brasserie being dominated by a SAGA trip, my partner and I had a fantastic time staying here. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were chatting and helpful. The dinner in the brasserie, although a tad later than booked, was delicious.
Having read other reviews I asked for a character room with a view and wasn't disappointed. Bed was lovely and comfortable!
